A History of Rolex Submariner Watch

Launched in 1953, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner is an iconic range of diving / sports watches which were developed for diving, The Rolex Submariner watch is known for it’s water-resistance and for being corrosion resistant.

Rene P. Jeanneret was one of the Directors of Rolex, he was an ardent amateur diver, and the person that inspired the Rolex Submariner. Because of his love of diving, he encouraged Rolex to make a watch that could function as a diving tool.

The first Rolex Submariner was introduced to the public in 1954 at the Basel Watch Fair in Switzerland. The Rolex Submariner is “a classic among wristwatches”, produced by one of the most world famous high-end brand names in the world. The Submariner was also the first divers’ wrist watch that was waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet).

Rolex uses Oystersteel for its steel watch cases. Specially developed by the brand, Oystersteel is extremely resistant, offers an exceptional finish once polished and maintains its beauty even in the harshest environments.

They are now water resistant up to 300 metres (1000ft).

So has Rolex admitted defeat with the Red colour in the bezel , they cannot make the red/black coke that everyone wanted (Pepsi bezel is very fragile)and release this GMT 🤷‍♂️ it’s a beautiful watch but very basic watch to release,if you ask me . The gold deepsea has to be a joke 🙉 @oisinomalleychannel
